The California Spring Select League, designed to keep travel hockey players in game shape during the off-season. Select League is open to whole teams and unattached players who are ready to make the next step toward joining a travel hockey team. All players must register in their USA Hockey 2023-24 Season Age Classifications. Participants may only be on one roster in the Select League and cannot play in more than one division (With the exception of High School teams, Jr High and 4x4 format).
DIVISIONS 8U Mite, 10U Squirt, 12U Pee Wee, 14U Bantam, Midget, 16U, 18U, High School Varsity/JV (Divisions may be combined if needed)
League Format: 10 Games 5x5
- USA Hockey Rules… (Rule Exception) Tag Up Offsides & Icing allowed on penalty kill
- No player ups- player must play in 2023-24 USA Hockey age classification
- No dual rosters (except Jr High, High School & 4x4-You may dual roster)
- NO Checking…Exception for 14U as an introductory to checking- no open is checking.
- 3-minute warm-up, three 12-minute periods one (1) hour ice slots (8U modified see below)
- Rink reserves right to adjust period length due to ice schedule
- Music played…NHL Style
- League standings and game scores will be posted on Kreezee
- No Overtime, No Shoot Outs, No Time outs
- League requires numbered matching jerseys
- Zero tolerance for verbal abuse to an official-league suspension
- Zero tolerance for fighting- league suspension
- Mouthpieces required (Pee Wee–Midgets)
- COACHES must have proper USA Hockey certification
- Depending on ice availability, games played at Anaheim ICE, Westminster ICE, Yorba Linda ICE, Lakewood ICE, Great Park ICE, KHS
** Teams may play on a non-scheduled day to complete the season on time. Schedule subject to change.
League Format: 4x4 for only Westminster & KHS Jr High /High School divisions

- 4x4 rules, no offsides
- Three 15-minute periods run time
8U Division Modified ICE: Games played on a modified ice surface 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 plus goalie NO Off-Sides, (3) minute warm up, three (17) minute run time periods, buzzer set 1:30 second shifts, continuous play, Pull & Go after goals. No Face-Offs
